Beatstats releases Year-End statistics for Beatport!
As it is coming to the end of the year, it is a time for reflection on the achievements of last year. With the likes of streaming sites Spotify having an even bigger impact on sales of music this year, it is curious to see how a site like Beatport manages to stay afloat. It probably manages due to being the only viable way to get high quality songs to Dj with. It has created a unique niche and a platform that we don’t see going anywhere soon!
As it is coming to the end of the year, we thought we would check out the site Beatstats, which analysis information from Beatport. It does this by using a points based system, they do this through a song’s position in the Beatport top 100, if it gets to the number one position it gets 100 points. They have collated the best performing artists, songs and labels for the past year in every genre on Beatport and overall giving a valuable insight to the most liked songs of this year.
As you can see, no surprises that Camelphat were number one as they had arguably the biggest song of the year, with Cola that has even managed to gain them a grammy nomination for best dance release. Number one in he labels is Drumcode a techno label showing how big the genre is.
