Interview with Firebeatz
We recently caught up with Firebeatz after the release of their latest single ‘Sinfonia Della Notte’ and here is what they had to say 👇
Hi, Firebeatz thanks for taking the time to talk to us at Melodic Nation. For people that don’t know how long have you guys been together for and how would you describe your sound?
We started working together in 2008 whilst we were still studying at the School of arts. Not sure how to describe our sound but we are all about the groove in house music.
Your latest track ‘Sinfonia Della Notte’ was just released, and as we know it is a remake of the classic Dennis Ferrer track, what made you decide to remake this classic?
When you get the opportunity to work on a classic like this you immediately jump to the occasion. And that’s what we did. Grateful for Dennis and his team to let us work with this all time classic.
This is your third release on Heldeep Records what makes you want to release your records on Oliver Heldens imprint?
Heldeep feels like home. We feel at home there. And also our music. Plain and simple.
Over the years you have collaborated with a wide range of DJs from Martin Garrix to Chocolate Puma & more. What makes you decide to work with someone?
Working with other artists sometimes helps you to get out of your comfort zone. It’s inspirational, you learn from each other but most of all it’s also a lot of fun.
We also have noticed that over the last few years you sound has shifted from big room to releasing more future house and bass house tracks, what is the reason for this?
Actually this past year we’ve come full circle. We started out producing groovy house tracks and somehow progressed in different genres like big room. Also, because we liked that sound at that time and we could tell from the crowd that it was working. Now we feel the audience wants more groove on the dance floor so we have been producing more groovy sounds. But we mainly make music we would like to hear when we go out ourselves.
We here like to support new and upcoming talent what is one piece of advice you could give to new producers and DJs?
Not many artists become stars overnight. So be prepared to work hard. Accept that you will meet tough challenges and not every opportunity will work. Stay focused, work hard and being original is the key.
Are there any more plans for new music in the rest of 2020?
Of course. We release a track almost every month. So be prepared for a lot of music this year!
Finally, what is a message you want to share with fans during this difficult time?
These are challenging times for everyone. We’re all in this together. So please make we take care of each other too. Especially our subculture has always focused on unity. Let’s keep this spirit in these difficult times.
