Interview with Lucas Estrada
We recently caught up with upcoming talent Lucas Estrada to chat all things 2019. He recently released his latest single ‘Way To Good’ to round off a year in which has released 9 solo tracks and had over 27 million streams.
Hi, Welcome to Melodic Nation, where are you from and how did you come up with your artist name?
Lucas Estrada is my real name. I live in Stockholm Sweden. The reason I used my name as in the beginning I never saw myself as an artist.
We loved your recent track ‘Figure It Out’ and you just released the remix package. How did you go about choosing which artists to put their own spin on the track?
Once we released ‘Figure It Out’. We got request’s from other artists to remix the track. We wanted to bring the song to new audiences who listened to other genres. So we chose Tom Ferry and Milwin to give the track a more upbeat housey feel. Whereas Henri Purnell and Farfetch’d turned into a more chilled Tropical House tune.
We noticed with your latest release ‘Way To Good’ that it uses similar sounds to ‘Never Our Fault’ is this how we can expect your sound to be going forward?
Yes that is true they do use similar sounds. Both those songs are part of a collection coming up in 2019 with part 3 being released in the near future.
You are also label owner of Loudkult, how do you manage your time between making your own music and running the label?
Before I could make a living from music. I worked in sales. There I learnt to optimize my time effectively. It is hard but can be done.
What can we expect from you in 2019?
In 2019 you can expect a lot of new music in many different genres. I plan to also do a lot of collaborations with an array of different artists of different genres.
