Kungs wins DJ Of The Year at NRJ Awards!

It has been an amazing two years for the 20 year old French wonderkid ‘Kungs’. He has had a meteoric rise in the dance scene ever since he posted his bootleg of clocks by Coldplay on Soudndcloud. Recently he managed to win the award for best French DJ.

He managed to beat out competition from fellow french legends David Guetta, DJ Snake and Martin Solveig. Surprisingly he walked away with the gong that night! He came to prominence last year when he released the infectious tropical house banger ‘This Girl’. This was the song of the summer, it reached the number one spot in 45 countries worldwide being a certified smash. It has has over 400 million streams on Spotify alone. Along with this he has played many gigs worldwide including some iconic venues such as Ministry Of Sound and more.

He recently released a collaboration with Olly Murs and entitled ‘More Mess’ which has also been doing very well. He has had a meteoric rise, could he be a future number one DJ in the world?

It seems the sky is the limit of what can be achieved for this very young talent. It is a sign that tropical house is well respected in the public eye and a genre that is still relevant today.
