Kygo releases ‘Kids In Love’ Remix album.
Kygo the Norwegian superstar has kicked off 2018 with 9 remixes of songs from his recent album ‘Kids In Love’. This album brought in millions of streams for every track and was laced with moments of pure brilliance. One of the most surprising remixes which kicks of the album is from rapper ‘Gucci Mane’ who adds a vocal to ‘This Town’, while keeping most of the elements of the orignal.
Next up is a remix of ‘Never Let You Go’ by Jack Wins who at this moment in time seems to be the go to guy for remixes, having come of the back of remixing ‘Dreamer’ by Axwell & Ingrosso. This brings his classic style to the fore giving a level of power that flows throughout this track.
Ryan Riback brings life to ‘Riding Shotgun’ with insane chord progression that leads nicely into a spurt of uplifting energy in the drop of this track. Next to tackle a remix is Alok with a melodic remix of ‘Kids In Love’ the lead track of the album. Alan walker comes with a remix of ‘Stranger Things’ creating a massive anthem keeping in touch with the style of his previous releases. Creating an atmospheric drop.
The Him, another go to for remixes come in with a Future House remix of ‘Kids In Love’ putting their own stamp on the track while having a nice chord progression in the build followed by a club floor filling drop. Finishing off the remix album in sensational style, Sam Feldt adapts ‘Permanent‘ into an melodic masterpiece, featuring a progressive drop which injects a cheery yet ferocious energy to the original.
For us the best remixes are the ones by The Him and Sam Feldt. The idea behind this album is to create more dance friendly tracks that will fill some of the arenas Kygo will be playing on his arena tour. To get the crowd dancing, whilst the originals give a more melodic feel more likely to be listened to at home or a lazy day at the beach.
Overall a solid album 7/10
