Spotlight – Lost Frequencies
Felix Da Laet, also known as Lost Frequencies comes from Belgium. He has had some small success towards the end of 2013 and into 2014 with releases such as ‘Tell Me’ & ‘Feelings’.
His big breakthrough came in 2014 when he made a remix of ‘Are You With Me’ by Easton Corbin. Armada Music stumbled across the track on SoundCloud. It was then subsequently released on ‘The Bearded Man’ a sub-label of Armada Music.
The single reached the number one spot in his home country of Belgium and in the end, was certified five times platinum. It had a string of number one positions and was certified double platinum all over Europe. It was also the most played record in Europe in 2014. It even managed to hit the number one spot in the UK. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjHMDlAPMUw
A follow up single was in the works and was released in 2015. It was titled ‘Reality’ and featured singer Janieck. Yet again this reached the number one spot in Belgium and managed to get to the top 30 in the UK.
In 2016 he then released his debut album ‘Less Is More’ which included the singles ‘Beautiful Life & What Is Love’. This album dominated globally.
He since then released remixes of ‘Cold Water’ by Major Lazer & Justin Bieber. In 2017 he also established himself as one of the fastest rising talents with a new entry spot at 26 on the Top 100 DJ Mag Poll. In 2018 in partnership with Armada Music he has set up his own record label Found Frequencies stating “it will serve as a home” his music and as the “go-to label for up-and-coming talents”.
His latest singles ‘Crazy’ with Zonderling and ‘Melody’ with James Blunt have had over 100 million streams combined and millions of sales cementing him as an artist to watch out for. Someone who is carving his own space with the dance industry whilst having mainstream appeal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4t6rQDxJwno
